DESCRIPTION:The state-of-the-art Joshua Tree Gallery of Contemporary Art (JT-GOCA) opens its newest large exhibition\, the GREATER JOSHUA TREE ART EXPO\, with a free public gala on Friday\, September 6\, 2024 from 6-9 pm where art patrons\, buyers\, enthusiasts\, collectors\, and aficionados\, may celebrate the new and unique artworks of over 40 artists from the Southwestern United States. In 2023\, the Mojave Water Agency (a state water supplier for many regional desert water providers) partnered with the Hi-Desert Cultural Center (the regional arts organization of Greater Joshua Tree) to launch a premier Art Expo at the Cultural Center’s flagship gallery\, the Joshua Tree Gallery of Contemporary Art. DESCRIPTION:An artist panel exploring photographic art as a tool to make socially relevant and evocative commentary will be held Sunday\, May 22nd at 2pm. The four-person panel will be lead by Museum of Photographic Arts President\, John Mullen\, joined by JTGOCA and ARTCO gallerist\, Simon Melchers. Through the viewpoints and works of two modern-day artists — French photojournalist and artist Stephan Gladieu\, whose works create the newest JTGOCA exhibition entitled THROUGH THEIR EYES\, and photographer and cinematographer Gordon Clark\, whose work was featured in the inaugural EMERGENCE exhibition\, the panel discussion will focus on the significance of documentary photography and the various methods for utilizing it in today’s world.
